ADVOCACY
This area reserved for state and federal government activity pertinent to model aviation.
There has been great progress over the past few years stopping and amending legislation that has been over reaching, poorly written with need of input from all stakeholders. Fortunately the advocacy exhibited by AMA Government Affairs and members has proven successful as the world adapts to advances in technology that share the National Airspace System. Stories continue to surface in the news of people behaving badly with drones and this unfortunately is the world we live in. Educating operators and law makers while advocating for the hobby are our best methods to defend our wonderful hobby.
District 1 VP Andy Argenio has been working tirelessly keeping informed and addressing our newest threat- Municipalities attempting to overstep federal law. The predominant cause for most of the legislation is privacy. The language being used however, is often contrary to the needs of Aeromodeling.
Please use the following hyperlinks to stay informed and advocate for your hobby. Thank you.
